January 10: Fun with the Laudermilks

Okay, I won’t mention the temperature here in Vero, but just let me say that there is a golf course on the other side of the fence in the area where I’m working. Hmm… I wonder if any SOWERS brought their clubs besides me.
We had dinner with Tim, Sheryl, Brittany and Jessica tonight. They took us to an Italian restaurant in downtown Vero. I get the impression that this area is pretty upscale. We had a g treat time. Their family seems very happy. We laughed a lot. Jessica is still a live wire.
I checked out impact drill/drivers in Lowes … $259! Yikes! I came home and put in a bid on e bay for $99.77 with a max of $114.50. I’ll know by this time tomorrow just how lucky I am. Don’t get any ideas about outbidding me.

It's a good idea to wait to bid on eBay until the minute before the auction ends. That way you won't drive the bid up too soon, and you can see better what other bidders are thinking. It's called "sniping."

Did you know: That water boils at 198 degrees up here? Thus, food takes longer to cook cuz the water isn't hot enuf. Breads rise very quickly, but they aren't truly 'proofed' so must rise a 3rd time... Cakes rise so fast in the oven, (because of lack of air pressure above them,)that they will pour over the top of the tin before they can bake enuf to support themselves!
