Toyota: What a feeling!

I took advantage of the long weekend to work in the basement. It's been a while since I've had much motivation to work down there after coming home from work, but on Friday I worked on sanding the ceiling. On Saturday I finished building a wooden box around an old coal furnace (to trap the dirt in) and then Stephanie and I put up a ceiling in half the room. (The other half of the ceiling, where we've been sanding, is going to be painted red, and we installed track lighting between some of the beams.) Yesterday I built a wall and insulated it to mute the sound of my drum practicing. Also, we disconnected one of the generators and freed up some electrical cables so we can put in some outlets. I'm proud to say that when we discovered some of the wiring was cloth covered, we removed it even though it ran to a receptacle that functioned okay.

Things are shutting down all over Maryland due to our worst winter storm this year. It's nasty out there -- we were blanketed with 1.3 inches of snow. National disaster!
