The Perfect Day! May 11, 2007

Today we had a nearly perfect holiday! We decided to take a vacation adventure! We rented a little Camry, and took a rode trip. We prayed before we left and dedicated the day to the Lord and asked for His guidance, blessing, leadership, and asked that we might be a blessing.

Then we meandered thru the Rocky Mountains and have visited Breckenridge, Vale and tomorrow we will visit Aspen. All of these are Ski Resorts that Dad has always just dreamed of seeing! We had a wonderful day siteseeing, shopping, dining and now we have a little suite at the Comfort Inn. We were enabled to get this room because of a man we "coincidentally" (a God thing...) met and he advised us where to go and made the reservations for us and got us a good deal! PTL! Your dad has been grinning like the cheshire cat all day! He has been borderline giddy! THAT in itself has been one of the high points of the day for me...

We have had gorgeous weather and so much fun and beauty today. It's hard to get my arms around it all! How I wish we could describe the canyon we drove through today. Mabe tomorrow Dad will blog for us. He'll do a better job than I!

I also hope we'll hear about Adam's special day and honors and the Robinson 4s and their 'wedding!' And aren't we excited about Alan's tenure??? YEA EVERYBODY!!!

Did you know: That water boils at 198 degrees up here? Thus, food takes longer to cook cuz the water isn't hot enuf. Breads rise very quickly, but they aren't truly 'proofed' so must rise a 3rd time... Cakes rise so fast in the oven, (because of lack of air pressure above them,)that they will pour over the top of the tin before they can bake enuf to support themselves! Liquid evaporates so fast that two extra tablespoons must be added per cup to produce a product that is not dried out. Hmmmmmmmm... My culinary reputation is at stake!
