I'm sorry I haven't been posting much on this site. I want to and everything, but I don't have the internet and usually my time at the library is very limited. Today I have a day off, though.

I bought a guitar yesterday. A used Fender acoustic for $99.

I felt justified in the purchase because I've been doing well with tips lately and also received $80 in server tip-outs that I didn't know about. (Servers are supposed to give me 5% of their tips because I make the drinks for them, but no one ever had and I was thinking it was an unofficial policy not to do that. It turns out that all that money was waiting for me in the office upstairs, though.)

So it looks like I just got an $80/week raise.

Anyway, this guitar, it's pretty nice. I played it for hours last night. I haven't played in a while, because my other acoustic broke a tuning peg and I can't fix it. That guitar cost $19, and I've been playing it for four years.

Of course, $99 is inexpensive for a guitar, but this doesn't play like el cheapo. It has a (almost) rich sound, great action, and fluid mechanics. Last night I began recording a covers album. I think I am going to record a cassette and call it Music For People With Old Cars. Side A will be originals and the B side will be these covers:

"Surrender" (Cheap Trick)
"Powderfinger" (Neil Young)
"Promised Land" (Bruce Springsteen)
"Cut Your Hair" (Pavement)
"You Put This Love in My Heart" (Keith Green) if I can learn it. I love that song.

I hope this hasn't been too boring. Not much exciting has been happening.
