"There's another tired camper commin' out!"
So give a shout!
They're commin' out!"

"Here's another happy camper comin' in....
So give a grin...
We're commin' in!"

I sang that song to Alex and Ella . . . a lot. They loved it. I couldn't remember any more words than what you typed, so if you know more, please send me the lyrics.

Oh, and we tried to call you and have you sing for us, but we couldn't get any reception.

WE'RE BACK!

It was great. I enjoyed seeing the black bear and bald eagles. Who's in for NC next summer?
Mom and Dad said…
In "the olden days..." when you kids were little, there was no 'reserving campsites' at state parks. It was first come, first serve. As Dad and I would get closer and closer to Rollins Pond, car packed to the hilt and everyone looking forward to a great two weeks of family fun camping, we would start to panic that all sites might be taken and we would either have to return home or find a less idyllic place to camp. We also feared if we did get in,we might not get a water site...

So... to relieve some of the internal stress, I started singing to every camping family that came down the road. It was obvious by the dissheveled contents of the car tops and internal car mess, that they were tired campers commin' out! The more that came out? The better our chances were for goin' in!

Therefore, with joy I started singing to you/us, "There's another tired camper commin' out! So GIVE A SHOUT! THEY'RE COMMIN' OUT!!!

We would eventually get to the Rollins' Gate and find a site waiting for us, and with extravagant GLEE we would sing "verse 2"!!! "Here's another happy camper commin' in! So GIVE A GRIN! WE'RE COMMIN' IN!"

After two marvelous weeks of either rain or shine, we would pack it in and head out... singing... much more quietly and thankfully... and sleepily... a repeat of "Verse 1 exchanging the word 'we're' for 'they'res'."

We, at that point in time, were the dirty, tired campers commin' out! Tired and happy...for us... and for the freshly packed campers coming north for their turn at the most beautiful place in the world! The place of love, fun, rest, adventure and family!

Long story to say... no more verses... unless you can add a second generation of song!

So glad to hear you had fun and celebrated family! JOY!
