Texans move to Dallas

I can hardly believe we are in Dallas and sleeping only a mile from where Kennedy was shot. We arrived at the Dallas West RV Park about 1:00 today and headed downtown to visit the Kennedy Memorial. We had a comprehensive tour of the area where JFK was assassinated. The sixth floor of the book storage building where Oswald did the dastardly deed is now a museum. We saw the x in the middle of Elm St where JFK was when he was hit. It was a somber experience to revisit that day in history. Much of the feeling we both had in '63 came back to us.

We spent the evening with Andrew and Margaret Tyner and their little girl,Riley. They have lived in Dallas for the last two years. They both have good jobs and seem happy, but miss Washington and family. Andrew says it's a boring area. Too flat and nothing pretty to look at. We had a nice visit with them over a great Mexican dinner at a restaurant.

Dallas is a big, busy city and spreads out over a large area. Driving back to our rig after dark afforded us a nice vista of lighted skyscrapers. It was pretty.

Tomorrow we head out and will stop in Bethany, OK where Anitarae went to school for a semester.
