Headin' West!

Well, here we are in Louisiana headed towards Texas to establish residency. The Great Adventure takes on new meaning as we go into unchartered, unexplored territory. We feel renewed excitement!

We just crossed the mighty Mississippi a while back! That's significant, eh? Also, I just read, Maria, by Eugenia Price, a historical novel about the settling of Florida. The main character, Maria Evans was quite a lady. It was fun to read after living last and this winter in Florida.

Louisana is very swampy. We crossed a bridge that was over ten miles long. (over swamp.)

I love my friends in MS and though glad to re enter the adventure, parting is always bittersweeet.

Daddy drives on. Isn't it amazing that I can talk on the phone and email while trucin' along? I'm really into technology!

yeah, enjoy. i'll get leah to post our APRIL 16, 15 inches of snow pix. so much for golfing on my spring break.

Did you know: That water boils at 198 degrees up here? Thus, food takes longer to cook cuz the water isn't hot enuf. Breads rise very quickly, but they aren't truly 'proofed' so must rise a 3rd time... Cakes rise so fast in the oven, (because of lack of air pressure above them,)that they will pour over the top of the tin before they can bake enuf to support themselves! Liquid evaporates so fast that two extra tablespoons must be added per cup to produce a product that is not dried out. Hmmmmmmmm... My culinary reputation is at stake!
