Etc.
Hi Everyone,
Dad is finishing painting the back of Tooley's house after siding it, and working on the interior, too. This afternoon he will build their steps off the back, small deck. Last team built the fron deck. It is of pressure treated wood and I don't care for that on the front of the house... but... it is not my house. And it is a real nice deck!
Tooley's are the directors of Nazarene Disaster Relief here in Gautier. They have been living in a small trailer for over a year... or just under... I don't remember. We love them and want them to have a nice home, which they now do. It is adjacent to the church.
Due to complications, the disaster relief new housing building is not open yet. It soon will be and will lighten the load on the church and they will be able to use their kitchen and gym....
This is a very active church and so they have felt the loss.[of gym and kitchen) However, the church has grown from 100+ to 450+ since the hurricaine! PtL! That's why we do what we do! People getting connected in an intimate relationship to Jesus!
Today, I am cleaning our house and preparing to move on. Tomorrow after church we head to TX and to see where we live! Duhhhhh! Weird! This afternoon I am going to a friends property to see where their house used to be before Katrina and then to their new home. They are one of the fortunate ones with money to recuperate!
Yesterday Daddy took the afternoon off and we went on a shrimp boat tour of the coast. They captain was very entertaining and very informative. As the gov't says he cannot fish till June, he tours tourists for cash. He does the whole shrimp fishing deal, and then shows us all the various fish, and then feeds some to the millions of sea gulls following us and then throws the rest back! It was fun and I was proud of Dad for taking the afternoon off for fun!!! (Didja read that, Al!?) We both feel we need to take time for more site seeing as we travel.
The Great Adventure starts up again as we head out for NEW TERRITORY! This year was basically a repeat, cuz we had thought we were heading home to build an addition for Glenna and Paul. We are sad that didn't work out, for their sake!
Well, that's about all from here. Does anybody read this site anymore! Three cheers for Leah and me!
Ta!
