Rollins Pond 2009
Dear Family
October is reservation month for Rollins and I would like to give everyone opportunity for input. Please respond to the questions. I will take everyone's opinions into consideration as I make the reservation, but I will be limited by what is available on Reserve America.com. Also, realizing we may have conflicting opinions, I may have to exercise paternal decision making judgment.
Question #1 How Long?
There were some suggestions made this summer that we extend our stay. How many days would you like to be at Rollins?
Question #2 Which Sites?
Anitarae and I spent some time checking sites and annotating our list. I condensed it to 3 choices:
Sites 62, 63, and 64 - These are sites we were in a few years ago. They are near the shower house, the beach is larger than most, and the sites are quite private.
Sites 172, 173, and 174 - The beach is the one we enjoyed this summer. The sites are small, but not too small. They are close to the road which is not private, but does make biking for kids more accessible.
Sites 214, 215, and 216 - The sites are larger, but the road is visible. The beaches are separate and o.k. but not as nice as this summer's. This is farther into the park and there might be less traffic. It is also acroos from "The Rock."
Actually, any of these are dream sites, especially after this summer's disappointment, and we would be blessed to get any of them. However, I need to start someplace and I would like your input. If you don't have an opinion that's o.k. I just want you all to have a chance to input if you would like to.
Question #4 When? The earliest start date for us would be Friday, July 24. We can start then or on Sat. or Sun. (Actually, the reservation site availability may determine this.)
I thought that doing this on the Blog would give everyone a chance to respond and see all the responses. It could be fun.
We will be at Aaron and Koa's at the time the res. needs to be made.

Comments
As for sites, I vote for 62-4 though I'm flexible on this. I only say this one because it's a closer drive for newspapers.
i'll talk with jack and we'll get back to you.
happy tuesday.
No matter what, we'll be happy just to be there. But . . .
62... Least favorite because it would be the hardest for the kids to ride bikes and for us to see them ride.
214... We love that it's near the island and away from the traffic of the rest of the park. I think it'd be fun to swim and jump off the rock, but I think the beaches are not as nice as . . .
172... This is our favorite of all three choices. Good beach, close to the bathroom, kids can ride bikes on that turn-around loop, ice cream truck won't be out of ice cream yet.
As far as the number of days go, we'd like to go for ten days, but Koa has to talk to her boss about this, so we can't commit yet.
I'm armed with Rollins Pond notes and am practicing on the Rewserve America site. Now if I can just stay awake until midnight. But, midnight which night? Should we start by trying to book on Friday?
Hey, Alan, Leah, Emma and Jack... Are you going to weigh in on the subject?
Based on our conversations in August, I think I know your Rollins Pond desires and you don't need to do the blog thing if it's too much. I suppose you sent this note from school? Anyway, I heard you say beach front was #1 and loneg time would be good since you are not doing Cape Cod in '09. Let me know if you have any other thoughts.
we are back online-computer is okay.
alan and i like the idea of a 10 day camping trip, and the end of july would be good timing for us....
