Pictures From Oregon

I don't know how to get the photo description to match the correct photo, so you do the work, ok?

Picture one is Crater Lake. Crater Lake was once a Volcano which erupted and then sank deeply into the earth. The crater then filled with some of the purest and bluest water on earth. It is the 7th deepest lake in the world, the 3rd in our hemisphere and the deepest in the USA. And WE got to enjoy it! It was a thrilling site to see on a warm an sunny day! PTL!

Then, as you can see, Chip and Dale won our hearts. (Hey, Leah and Koa... Even Al was feeding them. Guess the Rollins Pond rules have changed, eh?)

Picture 3: Yours truly! Being loaded onto the Jet Boat. It was a hoot flying 55mph up the Rogue River 35 miles to Hellgates Canyon. At the halfway point we stopped at a lodge and had a scrumptous dinner!

Picture 4? 5? Um, this was the day we rented a peddling kayak and peddled from Silkcoose Lake, up the river and to the Pacific Ocean. Boy, was I pooped! But it was a thrill of victory when we accomplished the feat. (Only about 6 miles, but.. hey! Consider my muscles. "WHAT MUSCLES?," Dad says.

Well, lets see if this post works.

You can see in the last photo... that just ahead is the ocean where the ocean and the river meet. Isn't it awesome how God created the ocean water to stay in the ocean and the river water to flow into the ocean and not vice versa? I would think that the ocean, being the most powerful, would travel right up the river. (It did during Katrina...) Also, the river current goes from the ocean up to the lake. So, why isn't there salt water in the lake? Or is it brackish? I dunno... Anyhow, it was an delightful adventure. Your dad keeps us hoppin'!
